Your town sounds like real AMERICA and a place I would like to spend some time in. I will be in the area around June 15, 2002 and would appreciate some information on hotels on or near the beach as well as historic places of interest.
Thank you,

I used to live in Seabrook and was looking on the picture pages for our house--it was the old parsonage that i believe was converted into an antique store sometime in the 1970's. Couldn't find a picture of the house on your pages. do you know if it's still standing?

Thanks for the memories

Great job Jason. I remember Seabrook and the good
old days, and sure wish we were still like it was in the 50's. It was wonderful. Route one believe it or not was beautiful with the big homes and the large trees, everyone knew everyone, your kids were safe and could play in the woods. Oh for Seabrook to go back to how it was.

My mother, Barbara Ellen Small, moved away from Seabrook when she got married. Nevertheless, until 1959, my sister Susan and I got to spend every summer and winter school vacation in Seabrook living with my grandparents, Sam and Dot Small on Lafayette Road. I recall many long and lazy summer days filled with the exciting companionship of my cousin Judie (Janvrin), and I cannot forget the adventurous visits of cousins Ronnie and Tommy Small to "Meme's" house - the site of the old Garrison. We picnicked at Elmwood cemetary, sold Mayflower bouquets along Route 1 and flagged the Greyhound buses down. Unlike today, traffic on Route 1 meant one or two cars every twenty minutes or so... occasionally some tourists would stop at Sam and Dot's B-B-Que for a cold drink or ice cream or maybe fried clam dinner from clams we dug at Seabrook Beach during low tide. A relaxing walk on the narrow footpath (the only sidewalk on Route 1) to visit with great Aunt Susie (Foote) at the post office and bring home the mail, picking blueberries in 'the woods' and later making pies and muffins, going to Smithtown to get gas and the newspaper from Everett's, helping 'Papa' snowplow for the town in his red Mac truck ...some of my many fond memories of my vacations 'living' in Seabrook. I watched the birth of the Dog track, the nuclear plant, the heavy commercial upshoots and the sad passing on of loved ones. These things have hidden the quiet town I knew from my childhood. I certainly enjoy these photos! Thanks for putting them up on the website.
